The evening’s auctions and donations raised $2,160 for the Kim Momb Scholarship Fund for young people in our area who are seeking careers in the construction industry. These contributions have the potential to pay for an entire year’s tuition for two apprentices, or help cover students’ expenses in other programs. Thank you to those who purchased auction items, and to those who donated!

In 1985, the Spokane Home Builders Association originally established the “HBA Auxiliary Scholarship Fund” to honor the children of SHBA members who excelled academically, as well as demonstrated strong leadership skills and service to their community. In 1986, the scholarship fund was renamed the “Kim Momb Scholarship Fund” in memory of Kim Momb, the son of Lyle and Joyce Momb. Kim was an avid mountain climber and skier, who perished in an avalanche. The Spokane Home Builders Association is honored to continue this longtime tribute to Kim Momb, and was pleased to have Joyce Momb present at the event.

Special thanks to Spokane City Council Member, Mike Fagan, who served as Master of Ceremonies for the evening! The SHBA would also like to thank the evening’s Signature Sponsor, Parr Lumber and Beverage Sponsor, Windermere Real Estate.

The Spokane Home Builders Association is the premier voice of the building industry of the Inland Northwest and champion of homeownership and quality community development. Please visit for additional information regarding membership, benefits, and programs.
